Town have snapped up three new faces to strengthen their squad ahead of the league kick off on 8th August.
Left back Lee Sweet joins from Bath University; Frome based winger Joe Stadling joins from Bradford Town; and central defender Ryan Lowton joins from Heybridge Swifts in the Ryman League.
Former Larkhall Athletic and Longwell Green right back Jake Gardner has also joined Town. He also played for several seasons for Chippenham Town so joins his new team mates already with experience of Southern Premier Division level.
Ben Thomson has committed his future to the Club. Striker Thomson has had offers from two other Southern League Premier Division sides this summer but has opted to stay with the Robins – a move that is sure to delight all Town supporters. He joins a strong looking strike force for the new season and will battle for a place up front with fellow forwards Lewis Haldane, Tyler Sibbick, Matt Minnis and Ollie Taylor.
Meanwhile Robins defender Rhys Baggridge looks set to complete a move to fellow Premier Division side Merthyr Town. Formerly with Yeovil Town and Salisbury City he made 110 appearances for Frome and netted 14 goals.
Town started their pre-season campaign with a 2-1 win at Southern League Division One South & West side Bridgwater Town on Saturday 18th July
Frome took a 2-0 half time lead thanks to a penalty from Tyler Sibbick and a well taken finish from Joe Tumelty. During the second half, with manager Adrian Foster running the rule over several trialists, Bridgwater responded and deservedly pulled a goal back.
Town drew 2-2 with Toolstation League side Street in their second friendly in a game that they led twice.
After a goalless first half, the deadlock was broken when a Ben Thomson run set up Joe Tumelty. Street fought back to level before Brad Mills fired home a low volley from 20 yards but Town couldn’t hold on and Street levelled.
