Local community group Let’s Talk has announced new dates for their free sessions dedicated to helping people develop effective communication skills.
Sessions are planned for Thursday 10th April and Thursday 24th April at Frome Town Hall.
The safe and welcoming bi-weekly sessions are open to everyone and designed to help you have tricky discussions with ease.
The sessions are a chance to learn simple skills in restorative conversations and are centred on different themes from active listening to reflective practice. Let’s Talk facilitators come from a range of backgrounds and have all received training to enable them to pass on communication skills that can be applied in a wide range of situations.
Everyone is welcome to come along to any or all of the sessions; booking is required so the group knows who will be attending.
If you’re not familiar with Let’s Talk already, feel free to take a look at the toolkit before you come along.
Themes for April
10th April: Transactional Analysis
A spokesperson for Let’s Talk said, “Transactional Analysis (T.A.), is a communication model which seeks to throw light on what can sometimes go wrong in our interactions with others and how to fix this. In this session the group will identify the key ideas behind T.A. and discuss their usefulness to your work and your life. The session will be a mixture of input from the facilitator, discussion and practice.”
24th April: The Compass of Shame
“Understanding the Compass of Shame and the inner critic for ourselves and for the people we are in relationship with can help us to communicate constructively when we have tricky conversations,” explained the spokesperson for Let’s Talk.
