FROME Town Band is looking for a new musical director as the current director prepares to hand over the baton.
Chris Turner has been the band’s musical director for eight years and, as well as leading rehearsals every Wednesday evening and conducting at concerts, Chris has helped the band introduce musical opportunities for many children as part of the its schools’ project.
He said, “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the band and I’m going to miss being part of it.”
Chair of the Frome Town Band committee, Kirstie Jones, said, “We’re looking for someone who will help the band grow and thrive and be part of what makes Frome a great place to live.”
The group’s secretary, June Walsham, added, “Chris’ shoes are big to fill.”
