A FROME comedy writer, producer and director, is part of a three-man team behind a new online sitcom.
Gulliver Moore, who is originally from Frome, produced ‘Small Town Politics’ with Nick Coupe, a comedy writer from South London and cinematographer Oli Clubb.
‘Small Town Politics’, is a sitcom set in a quaint British town about a young female mayor in post-Brexit Britain. The online sitcom aired on Sky Arts last month and is now available on-demand.
The three-part programme offers an optimistic view of a rural community, full of different characters, whom the writers believe are generally under-represented. Billed as “The Vicar of Dibley meets The Thick of It, with a touch of Parks and Recreation,” each episode lasts six minutes.
The sitcom is one of 50 projects funded by Sky Arts. A spokesperson for Sky Arts explained, “When Article 50 was triggered back in March 2017, Sky Arts responded by inviting 50 artists, from all disciplines, to consider what it means to be British. They offered up £2million worth of funding for the project, which they called Art 50.”
