A new play tower in Egford Park opened to the public recently, replacing one that had deteriorated with age.
The tower was designed by Bristol-based Green Play Project and installed with the help of the Frome Town Council’s ranger team.
Local boys Gilbert, seven, and 10-year-old Joseph were among the first to test out the new facilities.
“I think it’s pretty decent,” says Gilbert.
Joseph added, “I enjoyed it; it’s got a nice view and I like the rugged style of the planks. It’s much less dirty.”
Cllr Mark Dorrington said, “It’s great to see another play space in Frome refreshed and invigorated.
“Usually, we think it’s a shame when something is worn out and needs replacing; in the case of play equipment, it’s to be celebrated! We hope many more generations of children will enjoy playing at Egford Park.”
