MUSIC tuition with a difference, in the form of song writing, is a new venture being offered by Tom Veck, half of children’s rock band, Rocktopus.
The school teacher, singer/songwriter and founder of the popular ‘Tom Veck’s Music Workshops’ is thrilled to present this new venture in Frome. Tom holds a lifelong passion for songwriting and has been into many schools to help children write their own albums and now he is keen to help individual adults and children to do the same.
Tom said, “There’s something so rewarding about developing an idea, recording it and then finally sharing it with your friends and family. Lots of people have amazing ideas, but just need a bit of encouragement and someone to work with to bring them out.”
Tom uses a blend of techniques for writing songs and getting through creative blocks to help people to bring their songs out into the open. Adults and children with any amount of musical experience (including none), will be aided with Tom’s tried and tested techniques to write songs and record them at his home in Frome.
Tom continued, “I just love the creative process, and thrive on that moment when people realise how easy it is, and how good their song can sound. It could be anyone; a child getting impatient with music lessons who needs something to feel proud of, a teenager with an amazing voice needing a song to show it off, someone who never learned an instrument and isn’t a confident singer, but has an amazing idea they want to get together.”
Tom has even used his techniques to help write and record unique songs for weddings, birthdays and stag dos, which have gone down amazingly well. “Anyone can write a song, and I want to help them to do it,” he said.
