FROME Sport & Fitness will reopen in April, the developer has announced, and will be holding its official opening day on Saturday 7th May at the brand new leisure centre on Princess Anne Road.
The centre’s £2million refurbishment began in October last year after the centre was taken over by Fusion Lifestyle. Problems with asbestos and the swimming pool plant have led to an approximately two-month delay on the works, but Fusion is confident it will be up and running next month.
Centre manager Sarah Cruwys said, “We are thrilled to have the new facilities opening in April and think everyone is going to be delighted with the changes.
“We apologise wholeheartedly for any inconvenience caused by the delays, but are sure the investment and upgrade in the facilities will make the wait worthwhile.
“Our priority has always been, and will remain, customer care and safety, and ensuring the centre is the best it can be for the community. As a registered charity, Fusion is on a mission to make sport and leisure affordable and accessible to all, and we are constantly investing back into our centres to ensure they are the highest standard for the local community.”
The revamped fitness centre will have a new bigger gym, changing facilities, exercise studios, soft play area, an improved pool and upgraded reception areas and accessibility. The centre will also offer indoor and outdoor facilities for team sports.
The opening ceremony in May will see a local VIP officially open the centre and introduce a host of fun activities on the day.
