A support group for patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) is meeting on 20th May at 1.30pm.
Arrhythmias (heart rhythm disorders) affect over two million people in the UK and atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common arrhythmia. People aged 40 and over have a one in four lifetime risk of developing AF and an increased risk of a life-threatening AF-related stroke – the most severe type of stroke.
Facilitated by Helen Hodgson, a cardiac physiologist from the Royal United Hospital in Bath, the Frome AF Support Group will offer information about AF, as well as the opportunity to meet other patients and carers and share experiences.
The group will meet at Frome Medical Practice, Enos Way, Frome, BA11 2FH on Monday 20th May at 1.30pm-3.00pm.
Helen says, “People diagnosed with AF often have many questions. My aim is to help provide them with the knowledge they need to support each other through their own experiences.”
