Curves is a gym designed specifically for women to promote strength and fitness. “No men, no make-up, no mirrors.” It’s not intimidating, it works for all ages and abilities, and you can come whenever you have a spare 30 minutes.
The Curves circuit consists of resistance machines and recovery boards, working hard on the machines and recovering on the boards for short bursts of time – also known as H.I.I.T (high intensity interval training), supported by a Curves coach who is on hand to encourage your workout and also offer nutritional advice if needed, it’s as simple as that!
In fact it is so successful at helping you achieve your goals, that new Curves bootcamp exercises have been introduced into the circuit for those who are ready to try something extra as their fitness level increases.
Curves also have a couple of offers coming up for non-members; a week’s free trial, after which if you sign up there is no joining fee, or from September, you can book a place on a 6-week Curves bootcamp programme designed to kick-start your weight loss and fitness journey. These are specific, intensive sessions with your Curves coach, which will also give a taste of what a full membership can offer.
New coach/manager Kirsty Bishton says, “This is a very exciting time for us and our Curves family; we have plans for team events to raise money for our charity Breast Cancer Awareness, from walks to tough mudders for the more adventurous!
“Introducing the Curves bootcamp alongside the circuit has been very successful with great results, and the members are enjoying the variety and the challenge. That, along with the team events we have coming up, has created a definite buzz about the place!”
Owner Sandra Van Russelt adds, “ We have a great team of coaches here, always available to encourage members to be the best they can and to support them in developing their strength and levels of fitness. Come along and see us, check our Facebook page or give us a call on 01373 466266 for more information or to book a place. You won’t regret it!”
