Horticulture society to host ‘New plants for free’ talkFrome Selwood Horticulture Society is hosting its next monthly meeting on Tuesday 9th April.
The meeting will be held at Critchill School, Nunney Road, and will be on the subject of ‘New plants for free’. Refreshments will be available.
The society meets on the second Tuesday of every month, with special events and trips planned throughout the year.
Press officer of the horticulture society, Jane Norris said, “The FSHS was founded in 1966 and is now in its 53rd year. If numbers at the monthly meetings are anything to go by, the 72 who attended the March meeting avowed for the need for a good old night out, in good company, with talks that have resonance.
“Alan Wells from Longhope gave an excellent talk on ‘Gardening for Bees’, where the attendees were left in no doubt as to the essential need to provide habitat for the pollinating honey bee.”
The Tuesday 9th April meeting at Critchill School starts at 7.30pm. Annual membership for the group costs £10. It costs £2 for visitors.
