THE BBC’s Question Time has postponed its planned appearance at the Merlin Theatre.
The BBC’s flagship political show, known for its topical debates, was due to come to Frome on Thursday 21st March. Instead, producers have decided that the show will broadcast live from Belfast, Northern Ireland, days before Britain is scheduled to leave the European Union on 29th March.
At the Frome Town Council meeting last week, cllr Nick White said, “Unfortunately the BBC have changed their minds. Because we are on the verge of Brexit, they have moved the venue to Northern Ireland where they think it will be more relevant. But they are in negotiations to rearrange the date. So it will definitely be coming to Frome – date yet to be announced.”
