Once more the annual Masterchef Competition at Oakfield Academy proved popular and competitive.
The finalists had to design and prepare a two-course meal and a drink.
Eva Oliver, assisted by Callie Hills from Year 7 was the overall winner with an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ themed menu, of Carbonara, Vanilla Cupcakes and Chi Tea. Runner up was Jack Norris assisted by Jude Rawlins, both in Year 7, who created delicious Sweet Potato Chips with Lemon Sole Goujons and Minty Mushy Peas followed by Apple Crumble and custard.
The judges, Miss Emma Wilkes (headteacher) and Nigel Norris from Oakfield’s caterers Edwards & Ward, had the difficult task of deciding the winner from a wonderful and varied array of delicious dishes.
Oakfield Academy would like to thank Millers Homestores Frome and Homebase Frome for their donations of items for wonderful ‘cookery hampers’.
