MIDSOMER Choral Society returns to St Andrew’s Church, Mells, next week with professional soloists and Baroque orchestra to perform Handel’s little opera ‘Acis & Galatea’.
About the performance on Sunday 26th September, which starts at 6pm, organisers say, “Bring a picnic to enjoy in the Walled Garden during the interval. The opera is a tale of love between the Nymph Galatea, shepherd Acis, and the jealous giant Polyphemus with some of the best music Handel composed.”
