After careful consideration and consultation, the Cheese & Grain has decided to postpone all scheduled events for December. December ticketed events will be rescheduled, the café and bar will remain closed and only outdoor markets will be held.
Following the announcement of the new regional restrictions following the second national lockdown, C&G managers have been holding conversations with the police, local authorities, and artists over the rules for December events. While managers have been able to put in place safety measures that would ensure events would be in a Covid-secure environment, the lack of exact details and clarity around the government’s legislation means postponement was unavoidable.
A statement from the C&G said it was committed to only re-opening when we can provide a safe and secure environment for our staff, visitors, and the wider community of Frome, in line with all current government rules.
A January opening will be considered when the outcome of the Government’s 16th December review of the tier system is known. The venue says it will be constantly reviewing its stance for opening ASAP in 2021, in line with further announcements and information being released.
Customers with tickets for December events will be contacted and given the option of either transferring tickets to new dates or receive a credit against future ticket purchases, or a refund.
Steve Macarthur, the director of the Cheese and Grain, apologised for the inconvenience caused by the venue’s continued closure. Steve told the Frome Times he would like the paper to pass on his warmest thanks to all our customers for their incredible support, which has ensured the long-term future of the venue. He says, “Customers can continue to support the venue by keeping tickets for rescheduled events, donating to the Cheese & Grain, joining our Friend Scheme, and booking tickets for future shows via www.cheeseandgrain.com.
“The Cheese & Grain will look forward to welcoming everyone safely back to the venue in 2021.”
