An information event for anyone affected by Parkinson’s and their friends and family is being held at Rossetti House Care Home this month.
The ‘Together for Parkinson’s’ event will take on Thursday 22nd January from 10.30am to 12.30pm, and will offer free tea and cake and support and guidance on living with the disease. It will be hosted by Frome Parkinson’s cafe.
At the event, the South West Parkinson’s UK Local Adviser, Helen Schura, will be available with resources and to answer questions, and members from the café will share their experience of Parkinson’s.
For anyone affected by the disease there is a regular Parkinson’s cafe, which is held at Rossetti House Care Home on the second Friday of the month from 10am to 12pm enabling people living with Parkinson’s to come together.
A volunteer from the Frome Parkinson’s café said, “We have people regularly attend the monthly Parkinson’s café and wanted to share our resources with others in the local community. It can be overwhelming for those with a new diagnosis of Parkinson’s and their families. Talking to those with knowledge and experience helps clear confusion, while those who have had Parkinson’s for a while welcome sharing experiences with others who have the condition.”
