A GROUP of animal rights campaigners held a peaceful protest outside an abattoir in Frome this month to raise awareness for ‘respect to all life’.
Seven members of Glastonbury Animal Save, set up camp outside Frome’s abattoir on Merchants Barton, holding signs with slogans requesting respect for life and compassionate kindness to all sentient beings.
“The intention of the vigil-keepers,” says Josephine Cronin Robinson from Bristol Animal Save, “is to just gently raise awareness of the abbatoir and inspire compassion for the suffering of the animals; showing ‘no hate to the drivers but love to the animals’ (as was written on one of the signs); ‘a sad goodbye’ to the animals before going through the gates.”
