THE Royal Society of Arts will host its third event in Frome on Thursday 26th January with special guest, Professor Susan Hallam, author of the acclaimed report, ‘The Power of Music’.
The Music Education Council said about the report, “The Power of Music – a research synthesis of the impact of actively making music on the intellectual, social and personal development of children and young people – brings together the vast amount of quality research evidence that has built up over recent years, provides the basis for the argument that every child and young person should have access to quality music-making opportunities, and supports calls for schools to ensure that all pupils receive a thorough, broad and high quality music education.”
As with previous events, this event is open to all and will run from 6-9pm at Trinity Hall, with free entry, free refreshments, and home-cooked paella available from local chef Pippa Witt. For this special event, there will be extended time for Q&A as well as general discussion and there will be live funk, classical, and traditional folk music from local musicians.
This event is free to attend, but organisers ask those who wish to attend to let them know by registering at
