This year’s Frome Festival Quiz on Wednesday 12th July, sees the end of an era as it will be the last appearance of Paul Hewitt in his quiz master role.
The charismatic Paul, well remembered by those of us who appreciated his winning performance in ITV’s The Chase last year, has run the event at Frome Rugby Club since 2008. For much of that time he also organised the Festival Steward’s office.
“Paul has sadly decided to hang up his microphone,” said Marjorie Morris from the Frome Festival stewarding and sponsorship team. “His many friends will not want to miss his farewell performance at the traditional night out, which holds its price at £3.00 a head, £12 for a table of four. (The cost of £20 per table stated in the festival programme was unfortunately a clerical error).
“You can all be sure of a fun evening while still exercising those little grey cells. Your table might even win the coveted Martin Bax shield and four bottles of decent-quality wine. Add to that the Rugby Club bar is open all evening and the usual raffle with prizes donated by local businesses are up for grabs. What’s not to like? As the saying goes, see you there!”
