Now into its second term, the Frome Community Pottery is going well and offering special summer courses and taking part in its first exhibition.
The pottery is based at Frome College, and daytime and evening classes have proved to be as popular as ever. For the summer holidays, however, a series of workshops are being offered. Andrew Eddleston is offering “Throwing for Beginners” every morning (10am-1pm) from July 9th – 13th, and “Throwing for Improvers” every afternoon (1.30pm-4.30pm) from July 16th -20th.
Hiro Takahashi is running a two-day workshop in Raku, a fantastically dramatic form of pottery, on Saturday 14th and 21st July. Shorter courses are being run in slab built pottery, coiled pots, Sgraffitto, press moulded pottery and also smoke burnished pottery.
