300 students from Oakfield Academy travelled to Bath University recently to celebrate National Science Week at a ‘Bath Taps Into Science’ day.
For over two hours the children completed hands-on activities including holding giant African land snails and millipedes, making a hovercraft, looking at how we see, optical illusions and chocolate tasting.
The school’s Dawn Warren said, “The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and looked at the types of careers they could carry out in the future using STEM—science, technology, engineers and maths.”
