LOCAL driver, Tyler Trotter, has finished his first karting championship in 5th place and won the Howie Chappel trophy for the Most Improved Driver at the club’s awards.
Despite having to start the first six races at the back because he is a novice, Tyler didn’t let that hold him back. Sitting at 10th in May, Tyler battled his way up five positions to finish 5th. He already has his sights set on a podium finish in the Clay Pigeon Senior Rotax Championship this year.
Tyler said, “I’m currently putting together our plans for 2017 where my goal is to improve on 5th and get at least one podium finish. If we can get some local support in the form of sponsorship, it would allow us to complete a practice day the day before each race, which helps us set the kart up and allows me to get back in the groove having been out of the kart for a month (between each race). We haven’t been able to do much practice in 2016 because it nearly doubles our running costs (van hire, more tyres, practice fees) – sponsorship would help cover the costs and we would be happy to support our sponsors accordingly.”
If you would like to sponsor Tyler, get in touch with Tyler’s dad Tony on tonytrotter@hotmail.co.uk or 07702 323845.
