After having great success with three sold out events at the Silk Mill (in 2015), Reach for the Bubbles is expanding it’s offering to weekly toddlers groups for ages one to four and also a weekly after school disco for the ‘under 10s’.
All will be hosted by Lionel Richtea and taking place at the new community venue, the Hubnub Centre.
The Toddler Group (Tuesday mornings 10.30-11.30am) and AfterSchool Disco (Thursday afternoon 3.00-4.30pm) are active sessions including themed dance, puppetry, party games and lots of bubbles!
Lionel Richtea who hosts the sessions (who has a background in event organising, festival performance and play work) has devised original ideas and games especially for Reach for the Bubbles. These include Hammer Time (themed tool dancing to MC Hammer), Drum and Bass Musical Statues, Does it make a bubble? (testing toys and household items to see if they make bubbles), Silly Walking Society, Twirlers and Shakers (gymnastic style dancing) and Shake your body.
Groups cost £4 for the first child and £2 for additional children. All children must be accompanied by a parent or carer. Childminders pay a subsidised rate of £2 per child.
The new Hub Nub Centre can be found on Whittox Lane, Frome (BA11 3BY) in between the top of Catherine Hill and Zion Path.
Refreshments are provided at the groups including low sugar cake from Birdie Hop Kitchen.
In other Reach for the Bubbles news a new monthly family social will be taking place at the Hubnub Centre on the first Saturday of the month (10.00am-12.00noon).
This is a chance for families to meet up, socialise, listen to great music and get involved with the party games. Entry fee is in line with the groups, costing £4 for the first child and £2 for additional children. The first event will be taking place on Saturday 6th February.
A nostalgic family film event is being devised too, showing memorable movies for the parents whilst being entertaining for the children too. Think ‘Labyrinth’, ‘Dark Crystal’, ‘The Goonies’, ‘The Neverending Story’ and ‘The Princess Bride’. Venues and dates to be confirmed soon.
And finally put this date in your diary. The next instalment at the Silk Mill will be taking place during the easter weekend on Saturday 26th March.
