FROME Jazz Club and Westbury Festival are holding a free lunchtime concert at All Saints’ Church in Westbury on Friday 8th October at 1pm.
On behalf of the club, a spokesperson said, “Frome Jazz Club and Westbury Festival are delighted to announce the free lunchtime concert in the beautiful setting of All Saints’ Church.
“This special duo appearance for Westbury Festival 2021 features saxophonist John Martin (“a distinctive voice and an explorer of restless promise”, The Guardian) and Keith Harrison-Broninski of Frome Jazz Club (“a fine pianist”, The Independent).
“To make the most of a beautiful and uplifting venue, they will play some of Keith’s more spiritual compositions. Expect 45 minutes of hypnotic, transporting music that makes the most of the wonderful acoustics in All Saints’ Church, Westbury.
“Music will start at 1300 – please arrive a few minutes beforehand to avoid disruption. About 1245, there will be some explanation of what is actually going on when jazz musicians improvise, for young people in the audience – as well as for others who have always wondered!”
