FROME Families for the Future (FFFF) is working with Friends of the River Frome on a River Vision Project which is designed to improve access at Rodden Meadow.
Project coordinator Gemma said, “Imagine our local river, the River Frome, being a place where litter is non-existent and pollution is a distant memory – creating a place where wildlife thrives and people can paddle safely. FFFF is working with Friends of the River Frome to turn this vision into reality.
“Contributing to this transformation is the River Vision Project, run by FFFF. Alongside running community river themed events and sharing practical tips for helping keep our river healthy, we hope to improve access at Rodden Meadow, ensuring that it becomes a place for everyone.
“We want to create a place where residents can connect with the soothing sound of running water and get closer to nature’s wonders. This may be by building steps, a platform and a path which leads directly to the river, but before we design improved access, we want to know how the community would use the space!”
FFFF is encouraging people to take part in their short survey to help shape the vision of a new and improved access site at Rodden Meadow. You can find the survey on their website – fromefamiliesforthefuture.co.uk/rivervision
You can also get involved by co-creating a song about the river. Heather Truesdall, a talented musician, will lead a series of workshops in April and May, where together, as a community, a song will be written.
“Be part of the excitement as we perform this special song during the grand launch of the Climate Film Festival,” says the group. Go to the FFFF website to find out more.
