ORGANISERS of Frome Carnival have said they received record donations this year, with the total- £4,400- being £500 more than the total raised at the 2019 carnival.
“Fantastic news! The amazing people of Frome have managed to help us raise a whopping £4,400, by donating cash or via online donations – during our two street processions last month,” said the group.
“WOW this is an amazing amount and almost £500 more than the amount that we collected back in 2019! This will help so many people. We would like to thank the Frome Rotary Clubs who help coordinate the collectors, also a massive thank you to all of our collectors who walked shaking buckets and the wonderful people who lined our streets on Saturday 25th September.”
The Army Cadets received an award, the Roy Barnes Cup, for the best dressed group of collectors at the carnival.
