Father Christmas and his reindeer were out in the Frome area again during December, and the community as ever showed their amazing support.
The Lions Club of Frome and the Rotary Club of Frome want to say a massive thank you for the record amount donated during December. This time it reached the stunning figure of £13,657. This will help them continue to support charities and good causes in the area.
The presidents of both clubs expressed their sincere thanks to all those who, yet again, have volunteered huge amounts of their time. They made special mention of Mike Bishop of MJB Cabs, who masterminded the routes. Together with his wife Angie, and their dedicated team of drivers and marshals, they made sure the float got around safely. Also mentioned were the many volunteers from both clubs and partner organisations, providing teams of collectors on each night.
The DAKS Trust who own and manage the float on behalf of Frome Rotary and Lions said, ‘None of this would be possible without the generous support of individuals and local businesses. In particular, we would like everyone in Frome to know about the fantastic backing we continue to receive from Postlebury Car and Commercial Breakdown, Barnes Coachworks, H and B Tyres, Oakley Garden and Estate Machinery, D and H Motors, Peter Beard, Alvin Lee and many others.
Santa’s sleigh and the reindeer are now back in their stable, being well looked after and having a hard-earned rest, before being back next December.
