Relocation of Frome Information Centre

In a move to develop the information services of Frome, the Information Centre, which is currently located at the Library, will be relocating to the newly refurbished Frome Town Hall and will be up and running again on 20th February.

While email, social media, and telephone enquiries will remain unchanged, residents visiting in person will need to pop in to the new Town Hall on Christchurch Street East (the old Social Services Dept. and opposite the Memorial Theatre).

The Information Centre Advisors will still be on hand to offer advice and answer any questions at the Frome Town Council offices at 5 Palmer Street, BA11 1DS until the new centre opens.

Meg Mosley, Town Hall Manager said, “By moving the physical Information Centre to the new Town Hall we will have all sources of information under one roof. We will continue to provide the existing service to both residents and visitors that we offer in the library and there will be more too. The new Information Centre will provide information on volunteering opportunities in the town, for example.

“We accept that there will be some residents who might not be able to continue to visit in person and we are in discussion with the Cheese and Grain about establishing an information point there. The Cheese and Grain is open seven days a week which means visitors and residents alike can continue to access an information service in the town centre.

“Lastly, we will be improving signage in the town centre and make better use of notice boards. As an interim measure, the library will provide information for residents and visitors on town events, projects, and services with an unstaffed information point.”
