As Autumn draws in and afternoons by the fire with a good pint become a favourite Sunday activity once more, the Griffin of Milk Street has enlisted the help of event caterers Events Horizon to bring the traditional Sunday roast to its cosy pub to complete the perfect Sunday experience.
Events Horizon’s chef Keren Hayden will be cooking up a choice of two meats, plus veggie and vegan alternatives, along with all the necessary accompaniments, plus there will be a choice of puddings too.
The first menu is already out: roast topside of beef or free-range chicken breast, or lentil loaf for non-meat eaters, with all the trimmings – roast potatoes, lots of green veg, maple-roasted root veggies, Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese and Devil’s Backbone gravy.
For pudding, a choice of ginger, treacle and Milk Street Porter pudding with custard, or vanilla damson cheesecake.
Children are catered for with either half-portions of the above or really nice sausages.
The prices are rather tasty, too, at just £12.95 for two courses and £6.50 for children.
Keren cooks everything from scratch using local and/or ethically-sourced produce, so you won’t find a bought-in Yorkshire pudding in sight, and she is also a dab hand at dealing with special dietary requirements, so don’t worry about being ‘picky’ – she is here to make your tummy happy!
The Grand Griffin Sunday Roast starts on Sunday 6th November, and booking is available and advisable via the Griffin, although walk-ins are welcome (subject to us not having sold out!). Service is from a child-friendly 12.30pm through to a hangover-friendly 4pm. Call 01373 467766 for further details and to book.
