A Rotary club in Frome has donated £2,000 to provide clean drinking water for 500 pupils in Nepal.
Frome Selwood Rotary Club worked in partnership with The Flying Fish Swim School UK and The Rotary Club of Dhulikhel in Nepal to provide the funding.
A 33ft-deep well has been successfully developed and is now supplying more than 3,000 litres of water every day for drinking, sanitation and toilet use for more than 500 students.
Rotary member Guy Parkinson said, “Whilst Rotary does much to support local communities, it also seeks to help people elsewhere in the world. This is a powerful example of how Rotary service creates real impact, restoring dignity, health and hope to future generations.”
