The 25th National Poetry day was celebrated in style by Selwood Academy pupils.
The academy reports, “It was a rare opportunity for pupils to talk, with microphones, in the library! Poetry Karaoke sessions were held throughout the day for pupils to perform their favourite poems. Using our new collection of poetry books, searching the internet or writing their own poems, ensured a diverse range of subjects!
“It was such a fantastic success with the pupils, and more Poetry Karaoke sessions are planned for the Christmas term.
Bug Hotel. “Year 5 and 6 pupils at Selwood Academy have been busy building their very own bug hotel for our mini beasts to bed down over the winter. There are different sections to attract all the different insects – from pine cones for the ladybirds to bundles of sticks for the beetles.
“It has been great fun to build and we cannot wait to see who checks in over the coming months!”
