THE Rotary Club of Frome has once again held its Young Photographer competition for the students of Frome College.
Charlotte Leesam came in 1st place, Thea Bryant came 2nd and Daniel Weston came third.
Art and photography teacher at Frome College Emma Knibbs said, “The competition this year saw some truly outstanding entries. It was a really wonderful evening held at Rook Lane Chapel with kind sponsorship from NVB Architects, who provided the use of the chapel. There was a great atmosphere and lots of very beautiful photographs.”
Chris Good from the Rotary Club said, “The submissions this year showed a huge variety of skill and talent, which was noticed by both the Rotarians who organised the event, as well as the other guests who attended. The judges remarked that the standard was the highest they had seen.”
Jane Davis from Frome College said, “Frome College is filled with some very gifted and talented students, and it makes everyone at the school very proud and happy, seeing them being recognised for all their hard work.
“The winner, Charlotte Leesam, has been put forward to the district final, and could go on to the national final from there. We wish her every success in the future.
“We would like to thank all the students who entered the competition, and also all the staff in the college art department. In particular, Sarah Auld, for her constant input, and the assistance of Lily Knibbs in organising the event.”
