LOCAL charity, We Hear You, is gearing up for a busy start to the autumn, as it launches its September Superstars campaign. The charity is hosting a range of events and activities and is calling on the community to add their own.
Fundraising and communications manager, Gemma Wilkes said, “We can’t quite believe it’s September already. We’re excited about our busy September Superstars schedule and the opportunity it gives us to get out and about in the communities we support.
“Drop some change in a bucket at our supermarket collections, try your luck at our ‘water or wine’ stall at the Lisa’s Army fun day on 3rd September, sign up for our month-long virtual WHYwalk walking challenge, or bring your pre-schoolers to our ‘toddle waddle’ events in Frome and Street. Our Iceland trek participants are busy planning jumble sales, bingo nights and gin and rum tasting evenings and more.
“We’re also calling on as many workplaces and schools to sign up for our big ‘Dress down (or up) for WHY’ day on Friday 23rd September. Go about your business in casual clothes or push the boat out and go in fancy dress!
All the events will be on our website at wehearyou. org.uk/fundraising and we’ll be updating it regularly, so do keep checking in to see what we’re up to. If you’d like to run your own September Superstars event, we’d love that – get in touch at fundraising@ wehearyou.org.uk to let us know. The money raised in September, and from all our fundraising, will help us meet the ever-growing need for our services for people affected or bereaved by cancer.”
