The Rural Network Project, in partnership with Cheese and Grain, will be hosting its next academy session when Somerset resident, Dom Monks, will be dropping by and giving a masterclass on recording and record making.
In this session Dom sharing his experiences as a record engineer, producer and mixer as well as discussing how he started out in the industry. Dom will also be sharing his philosophy on recording. The session will finish with Dom answering questions.
Having begun his career at Real World Studios in Box as an assistant to Peter Gabriel’s engineer Richard Chappel, Dom went on to engineer for the commercial arm of the studios. He later went freelance, regularly working with renowned producer Ethan Johns, as well as independently engineering and producing on both sides of the Atlantic.
He has worked with the likes of The Vaccines, Paul McCartney, Tom Jones, Big Thief, Laura Marling, Robert Plant, White Denim, Noah and the Whale and Paulo Nutini,
The Academy Session will be taking place at the Bert Jansch Studio Cheese and Grain on Thursday 26th September at 6.30pm.
