THE annual Frome Santa Dash went ahead on Sunday 11th December despite weather conditions being ideal for Santa, but not for runners!
No personal bests were set, but a select group of 25 Santas took on the 4k distance and so far, the event has raised £1,100, with some sponsorship still to arrive. The event was organised by the local counselling charity We Hear You (WHY) to raise money for their free professional counselling service for anyone affected or bereaved by a life-threatening condition.
WHY fundraising and communications manager Gemma Wilkes said, “It was our fifth annual Santa Dash and what a day for it! We’re delighted with the money raised so far and would like to say a huge thank you to our runners and of course to Frome Cricket Club and Frome Running Club for all their support.”
WHY provides free professional counselling to anyone affected by cancer or another life-threatening condition at various locations across Frome, BaNES, Somerset and Wiltshire. They also offer online counselling.
