Patients of Frome Medical Practice can now book blood tests for Saturday mornings, and a wider range of blood test appointments are also available on weekday afternoons.
Patients who are advised to book a blood test at the practice can do so in a number of ways.
The quickest and easiest way is to book a blood test appointment via the NHS App. Patients who need help doing this can visit one of the digital support sessions offered by the practice (search ‘digital health’ on the practice website for details.)
Blood tests can also be booked using the online appointment request form, available on the practice website.
Managing partner at the practice, Karen Creffield, said, “We are really grateful to Somerset Integrated Care Board, which has worked with the Royal United Hospital Pathology lab to enable us to have a second blood collection on weekdays and a new Saturday blood collection.
“These changes bring significant benefits to our patients, as well as to our team. It means we now have more appointments available throughout the day and we know the ability to offer a Saturday morning will really support some of our working population.
“Early feedback from patients about these changes has been really positive. We anticipate the second collection on weekdays will improve sample accuracy and therefore lead to a reduction in the number of repeat tests needed. We’re enormously grateful to our team, in particular our healthcare assistants, for ensuring these changes have been possible.”
