Energy advice sessions are being held in the Westway Precinct this month to help residents maximise their home’s energy efficiency and reduce their bills.
The sessions will be delivered by the Healthy Homes team on Wednesday 30th April, from 10am to 2pm.
Frome’s team of specially trained Energy Advice Champions can offer advice and signposting or even book a home visit to help you maximise the energy efficiency of your home and reduce your bills.
They will also demonstrate the Fairer Warmth platform and how you can explore and save relevant information about your home, home improvements and potential funding sources.
The energy advice session on 30th April follows several similar pop-up events held last year.
The regular energy advice session at Frome Medical Practice will not run on 30th April but will resume on Wednesday 7th May.
Cllr Anita Collier said, “Living in a warm, dry home has huge benefits for people’s health, both physical and mental. Sadly, as we know, a lot of housing falls short of providing it, whether rented or privately owned. The Healthy Homes team are friendly and knowledgeable and can help with many common problems, such as advice on draughtproofing or ventilating your home or energy-saving tips.”
The Healthy Homes team is part of the lottery-funded Green and Healthy Frome, a unique partnership of Edventure Frome, Frome Medical Practice and Frome Town Council, aimed at creating a healthier community and planet, and recognising that the two are closely linked.
Regular Healthy Homes sessions take place at Frome Medical Practice on Wednesdays from 12pm to 4pm (no session 30th April due to the Westway pop-up). You can also request a home visit by emailing energyadvice@frometowncouncil.gov.uk or calling 01373 480391.
