North Hill House in Frome has been celebrating success in the Somerset FA Inclusive School’s League.
This year marks the first time in the school’s history that they have entered a sporting competition and two teams were entered in the U16 age group with one team ranging from the ages of 14 to 16 and the other team from 12 to 13 years.
Both teams played league games over three dates at Strode Sports Centre from March to May and the older team managed to stay undefeated!
The PE teacher at the school Leroy Green said, “All students managed really well and they all enjoyed the experience of playing football for their school. They played some excellent football with fantastic teamwork and showed good sportsmanship by shaking the hands of opposition players.
“The older team did not lose a single game over the three league games and they won their league by some margin. The younger team managed to come third, narrowly missing out on second which was fantastic as they were playing against students a lot older than them.
“Everyone at North Hill House is extremely proud of the teams and it has brought a fantastic enthusiasm for football across the whole school with this becoming a competition for our students to thrive in for many years to come and not forgetting our sports mascot Gregory, the otter.”
North Hill House is a school for children with autism and associated difficulties such as ADHD and dyslexia.
