AN athletics team from Year 6 of Selwood Academy in Frome, qualified to represent Mendip schools at the Somerset Schools Summer Games, held at Millfield Senior School on 4th July.
Their selection followed the team’s success at the Area Quad Kids Athletics event in June,
Selwood Academy reports, “The event requires the team of eight to all compete in the four disciplines of 600m run, 75m sprint, standing vortex throw and standing long jump. The Selwood team finished an impressive first overall, making them county champions and, in effect, the top eight year 6 athletes in Somerset! The Academy is very proud of them all.”
Selwood Athletic comprised the following members;Oliver N 6L, Archie P 6R, Ben F 6M, Alfred S 6E, Lexie H 6F, Anais C 6M, Emma D 6M and Sienna S 6S.
