Frome Voices will be joined by singers from Murrhardt, Frome’s twin town in Germany, for this year’s concert, which includes Brahms’ German Requiem.
The choir says they have been working hard on their German pronunciation and hope their German visitors will appreciate the effort made!
“As well as our German visitors, the choir will be joined by two wonderful professional soloists Fleur de Bray, soprano and Tom Humphreys, baritone. Both have sung with Frome Voices before, and seem happy to take time out of their busy performing schedules to sing with our amateur choir.
“Alison Townley is once again assembling a talented orchestra of professional and semi-professional players that will do justice to the works being performed.”
The performance will include the famous Vaughan Williams hymn All People that on Earth Do Dwell, Elgar’s lyrical Serenade for Strings, the moving Five Spirituals by Sir Michael Tippett and will end with Brahms’ Requiem.
The concert will take place on Sunday 18th March at the Cheese & Grain, 7.30pm – 9.30pm. Tickets £15 (free for students) available from the Cheese & Grain.
