At the February meeting of Frome Ladies club, the chairman Brenda Palmer introduced Simon Dando a pest control officer for the past 17 years.
Simon told many anecdotes relating to his unusual job. He explained how every day is different as he deals with all sorts of pests from fleas and bed bugs to moles, rats and wild boar.
Christine Potter was presented with a bottle of wine by Shirley Smith as thanks for her time as Chairman. New chairman Brenda Palmer asked for a volunteer treasurer.
Future events were discussed. A charity for this year will be decided at the next meeting, suggestions are needed.
The speaker for the next meeting on Wednesday 30th March is Jane Clark with a talk entitled ‘Joy’s War’ relating to her mother’s time as Q.A nurse during WW2. Tea ladies are Pat Nuth, Margaret. Stevens, Christine Shillabeer and Pam Strong.
