A service in Frome supporting expectant and new parents under 25 is now accepting self-referrals for families in the town and surrounding villages.
Frome Baby Link provides free, one-to-one guidance for young parents who are pregnant or have children aged 0 to 3. It aims to ensure equal access to early parenthood information.
Following grant funding from Frome Town Council and Somerset Community Foundation, the team has immediate capacity to support new families.
New families receive tailored one-to-one sessions with a dedicated parent supporter. These take place at home or a neutral town location. Support includes birth preparation, infant care, child development and family wellbeing.
Beyond individualised care, the team maintains a regular presence at local partner groups. These include Baby Connections, Tiny Hearts and The Frome Birth Talk Groups. The service also hosts pop-up workshops within these groups, focusing on topics that parents identify as most important to them.
Parents can bypass professional referral routes and contact the team directly to access support.
