It’s not long until the second annual Frome Window Wanderland, being held this year 1st-3rd March, 5.30-9pm each evening, and organisers are urging local residents to sign up to this free event and put their homes on to the online event map to also be included in the free printed map.
They say, “Frome Window Wanderland is a fun community event where anyone can make a display in their own window (or garden) and light it up for others to wander around and enjoy! The event successfully pitched for support in the People’s Budget last March and is completely free, with no fees to participate.
“To ensure your address appears on both the online and printed map, we will be issuing a deadline of the second week of February. Over 80 homes, shops and businesses have already signed up, but we would love this number to beat the 180 who created displays last year!
“The event follows the February half-term break, during which we will be organising two workshops in collaboration with the Children’s Festival on Thursday 21st at Trinity Church Hall and on Friday 22nd at Frome Football Club, giving children and families an opportunity to design and make colourful window decorations to take home and display for Frome Window Wanderland 2019.
“Making a display can be as simple as a lounge window with your favourite piece of clothing hanging in it, fairy lights in the garden, a front room disco or your favourite book in the window, it is completely up to you. Or you can always lend your window to someone who wants to make a display.
“It is easy to sign up, just register and put your address on the online map at our page on the Window Wanderland website www.windowwanderland .com/event/frome-2019. You can also find us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.”
