FROME-BASED singer/ songwriter, Sara Vian, has released a new music video for the title track of her debut album, “Beautiful Soul”, to raise money for charity.
Money raised from people donating to watch the video will be given to the National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACOA), a charity that offers information, advice and support to children of alcohol-dependent parents.
Sara said, “I wrote this hopeful song for a charming busker called Dave whom I met in Brighton after returning from my travels in India. Dave was living in a squat with a number of other homeless people, and he suffered with chronic addiction issues. He told me how both his parents were alcoholics so he was neglected from the day he was born and then ended up in children’s home.
“The disruption was too much and he became a hopeless alcoholic drug-addict due to feelings of displacement, abandonment and neglect no doubt. It was a shocking insight and he ended up dying from an overdose after going around the vicious cycle of addiction and rehab countless times.
“My hope is that some of the children who are suffering now can be inspired to stay hopeful and overcome their chronic challenges with the right support, learning to lead peaceful, creative and adventurous lives (as is touched upon in the music video).”
