Since Manfred Mann formed in 1962, they have firmly secured their place in the history book of British popular and R’n’B music. The number of hits speak for themselves. Three number one hits in the UK plus two number ones in the States, along with a further seven top five and six top ten hit singles !
The Manfreds are made up of former members of the legendary band, led by original frontman Paul Jones with his inimitable vocals and unique harmonica sound, along with Mike Hugg keyboards, Tom McGuinness lead guitar, Rob Townsend drums, Marcus Cliffe bass and Simon Currie saxophone and flute, and sometime guest vocalist Mike D’Abo. The Manfreds have toured all over the world including The States and Australasia several times and their popularity is undiminished. Their Maximum Rhythm N’Blues Tours have filled theatres right across the UK, proving them still to be of the most powerful bands on the circuit.

Following the recent incredible Public Image Ltd gig, it is a real privilege to welcome their founder member and bass player extraordinaire to the Cheese & Grain. Jah Wobble has always managed to surprise, delight and confound his legion of fans. Expect a fantastic aural journey through dub, world, ambient and avant rock music from one of the great innovators.

The Smiths Indeed offer a fantastic night of nostalgia for those who remember those distant days in the mid-1980s when The Smiths lit up the world of popular music. They have toured extensively around the UK, the USA and Europe, playing to full capacity audiences of Smiths fans old and new throughout. For those who weren’t even born then, or were otherwise engaged, they offer a great opportunity to witness what it might have been like to see The Smiths live. After all, a Smiths Indeed show is meant to be a celebration of The Smiths. Apportez vos fleurs…
