FROME canoeist, Alfie Symes aged 13, who has been offered a place on the British Canoeing talent programme, as received a further boost in the form of sponsorship from Frome company, Brûler.
Alfie took up canoeing with Frome Canoe Club when he was 10 years old and his passion for the sport has just grown over the years.
He now competes in canoe slalom all over the country and, as part of the British Canoeing talent programme, his training takes him to the Olympic course at Lee Valley, Nottingham, alongside his weekly training on the river Frome.
His family say, “This is so much more than just a sport to Alfie and he hopes that one day he may be given the opportunity to be competing for the country.
“He is so grateful to Brûler for their kind sponsor and is counting to look for any additional sponsorship to enable him to continue training and competing at this level. If anyone would like to find out more or is interested in helping to sponsor Alfie, please get in touch via amysymes@sky.com
