THE children from Springmead School have raised Ј2,011 for the charity Mercy in Action.
Mercy in Action is a non-profit organisation that focuses on the crisis in maternal/newborn/child health care worldwide.
The school raised this money by doing a charity week which involved a staff and children netball match, a wake and shake, a sponsored sing and much more.
Alison Todd from Mercy in Action came into a school assembly to receive the cheque from Springmead School.
The school says, “She told the children that the money would be used to build a counselling centre which would be named after Springmead called ‘Spring Mead House’ and they would also be able to increase their night patrols from two to three evenings a week.
“Alison was extremely moved by the work the children have been involved with.”
