A star-studded line-up featuring some of the biggest names in television comedy will be performing the final night of Frome Festival at the Cheese & Grain on Sunday 15th July. Phill Jupitus, Ade Edmondson, Rowland Rivron and Neil Innes are all iconic artists in their own right, put them together in a band, adding influences from Syd Baratt, George Formby, They Might Be Giants, Ian Dury, Mel Brooks and… Voila! – ‘The Idiot Bastard Band” is born’.During the winter of 2010/2011 they held a raucous eight-week residency at The Wilmington Arms in Clerkenwell. Famously advertised as ‘Live Rehearsals’ the shows were a heady mixture of excitement and catastrophe, at once fabulously warm, surprising and hilarious. They have done something familiar this year at Monto Water rats, where they found that actually, they weren’t half bad…so they’ve booked a few more shows and thought they might even bang a few festival performances out this summer.Expect the unexpected during this comedy feast of music and mayhem! For those not aware of these comedy favourites: Ade Edmondson (Young Ones, Comic Strip, Bottom). Neil Innes (Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band, Monty Python, Innes Book of Records). Phill Jupitus (Never Mind the Buzzcocks, QI, Radio 6 DJ). Rowland Rivron (Celebrity ‘Lets Dance’ – Sport Relief, Jools Holland Big Band, Blue Peter {aged 15})Tickets available from: The Cheese & Grain box office – 01373 455420 – www.ticketweb.co.uk – www.seetickets.com
