STUDENTS from Frome College and Trinity First School recently performed a special carol concert at Wells Cathedral.
Frome was represented by two schools which were hand-picked from many schools across Somerset.
The conductor for Frome College, Helen Ostafew-Temmink, said, “The students all sang beautifully! We performed the premier of one of my compositions, Snow, which I wrote for them about the magic of Christmas and the wonderful possibilities which life holds for them if they allow themselves to dream big.
“We also sang Rutter’s Christmas Lullaby which they sang in four-part harmony. Our head of music, Josh Hampson, is amazing at creating special music opportunities for his students and we were the only secondary school choir chosen for the event.
“Trinity First School played an arrangement of Good King Wenceslas (made by one of their teachers Amanda Williams) on the hand bells and it sounded gorgeous in the Cathedral. Since joining the school, she has really enriched their music.”
