Selwood Academy have received their Ofsted inspection.
Two inspectors, Mr Matthews and Mrs Goodall inspected the Academy under the section 8 framework.
This meant that as an existing Ofsted-graded ‘Good’ school, the Academy received a one-day visit.
Selwood had previously piloted the new inspection framework with Ofsted to help them support the development of this process. A number of schools have suffered under this new framework due to the strong emphasis on safeguarding.
In his letter to the headteacher (which replaces the old report), Mr Shanky states, “Teachers are skilled at setting targets which challenge pupils and have a clear focus on learning over time”
“Staff have high expectations of the pupils. Pupils at the school are extremely polite and accommodating”
“The headteacher, senior and middle leaders and governors provide strong leadership”.
Clare Cardnell, Chair of Governors says, “We are delighted with the outcome of the inspection particularly given the framework which is so much more demanding than previous ones.
“I would like to convey my sincere thanks to all who have supported Selwood, the pupils, parents, governors and staff work so strongly together and I am proud to see this recognised so strongly.”
