As the festive season gets underway, Frome Weekly Market is gearing up for some of the busiest markets of the year and calling for shoppers to support small businesses and buy local.
Held every Saturday and Wednesday in the Market Yard by Frome Library, the market offers a mix of fresh local produce, homewares, clothing, jewellery and plants, making it the perfect place to pick up affordable Christmas gifts.
“Frome has a great town centre and if we want that to continue it’s really important to support Frome Weekly Market”, says organiser, Kate Bielby. “The market is a great place to shop and it’s also a really lovely community space for people to chat with traders and other customers.
“The market has recently welcomed a new addition: local fine cheesemonger and Frome’s very own Town Crier, adding even more character and flavour to the line-up.
“As well as gifts, the food offering on Saturdays in particular is great. We have fresh fish and seafood, Rye Bakery, Chik Chak Falafel, organic coffee from Silver Fox and seasonal fruit and veg from local regenerative growers, Middle Ground.
“If you’ve missed The Old Bakehouse since they left Cheap Street, you’ll be delighted to hear you can find Robin and Linda every Saturday just by Frome Library.”

The markets are in the Market Yard, 9am to 3pm every Wednesday and Saturday.
